By feeding your chocobo companion certain fruits, you can change the color of your chocobo's feathers. Changing a chocobo's color is purely for aesthetics. To feed your chocobo these color changing fruits, your chocobo must be stabled. It takes 6 hours for a color change after feeding and you cannot remove your chocobo from the stable during those 6 hours. These fruits are obtained by buying the seeds from your Grand Company's Hunt Billmaster NPC for 15 Allied Seals each and are grown in a garden. The dye system uses RGB values. Below are the types of fruits and their effects.

[x] Basics
Tips:

-Use Shroud Soil (obtained from Miner nodes) with the seeds to get more fruits per harvest

-The Chocobo Color Calculator (Links page) will help you figure out what and how many fruits you need to feed

-Don't feed your chocobo the same type of fruit too many times in a row, rotate through the different fruits you need to feed it.
Example: You need to feed 10 Cieldalaes Pineapples and 10 Doman Plums. Don't feed it all 10 pineapples then the 10 plums.
Feed it 2 pineapples, then 2 plums, then 2 pineapples...etc. until all 20 fruits are fed.

-There is some randomness in the values. You may need to do multiple feedings and adjust the amount of fruits you need to feed to get the exact color you want.
Cieldalaes Pineapple:
Decreases blue value, increases green and red values
Doman Plum:
Decreases red value, increases blue and green values
Han Lemon:
Returns chocobo color to original Desert Yellow
Mamook Pear:
Increases green value, decreases blue and red values
O'Ghomoro Berry:
Increases blue value, decreases green and red values
Valfruit:
Decreases green value, increases blue and red values
Xelphatol Apple:
Increases red value, decreases blue and green values
